Pastor Rob Thomson

Bio

Pastor Rob grew up in New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania in a Christian
family. By God’s grace he became a follower of Christ as a boy in 1974. He joined the
Navy at the age of 17 as a way to pay for college and ended up serving for 24 years all over
the world – seeing a vast amount of God’s creation and meeting people from many
“nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues” in the process. He was stationed in Japan for six
years, during which time he met his wife, Kinuko. They have been married since 1993 and
have one son. The Lord, through the Navy, brought him and his family to Maryland at the
end of his military career to serve as a Physics professor at the United States Naval
Academy. He retired from the Navy in 2007. Pastor Rob has a passion for teaching the
Word of God “in season and out of season” in any setting or venue, and for seeing the truth
of Scripture applied in the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds “for the equipping of
the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” and to the glory
of God.
