Pastor Gabe was born in Argentina to missionary parents who soon returned to California. Despite growing up in gospel-preaching churches, it wasn’t until he was 14 that the Lord saved him during a summer youth camp. He met his wife, Rachel, while he pursued a computer science degree at The Master’s University. After completing his studies in 2003, he and Rachel married, and he worked in the technical field in the years
before and during seminary.
Gabe graduated from The Master’s Seminary in 2011 obtaining a Master of Divinity degree with a particular focus in biblical counseling. During his time in seminary he also became certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), later becoming a Fellow in 2024. After pastoring a small church in Washington state for two years the Lord directed them back to California to oversee the digital platforms of Grace to You, the media ministry of John MacArthur. During those years he served as a deacon at Grace Community Church in teaching, counseling, and leading music.
The Lord brought Pastor Gabe to Hope Bible Church in 2018 to serve as the Pastor of Shepherding, with a primary focus on counseling. He was then appointed as the Lead Pastor in 2023. As a biblical counselor and Fellow with ACBC, he is passionate about ministering to those battling sin or experiencing suffering, as well as training believers on how to disciple and minister to others with God’s sufficient and powerful Word. Whether from the pulpit or in conversations, in public or private, Pastor Gabe is passionate about proclaiming God’s word. He and wife, Rachel, have four children, Noah, Chloe, Caleb, and Micah.
