Meet our Elders

The Scripture teaches that the titles pastor, elder, and overseer refer to the same office. The terms are used interchangably in passages such as 1 Peter 5:1-4 and Acts 20:28 ("shepherd" is the verb form of "pastor"). The different terms do not refer to different offices, but to different aspects or roles within the same office. The primary distinctions among pastors at Hope Bible Church come down to staff v. non-staff, and scope of responsibilities. The elders work together with equal authority to lead and shepherd the flock under the leadership of the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
