Pastor Larry Irvine

Pastor

Pastor Larry grew up in Ashland, Kentucky.  Raised in a Southern Baptist church, at the age of 12 he understood that he needed Jesus Christ.  What followed was a growth in studying the Bible.  He attended a small Baptist College, Georgetown College, where he studied Mathematics and Physics.  Next, he traveled to Norfolk Virginia to attend Old Dominion University and to earn a degree in Applied Mathematics.  And while attending a local church he met his future wife, Sarah.  He moved to Detroit Michigan to work as an IT professional contractor at GM where he stayed 25 years.  During this time, he was part of a church plant and was selected as one of three elders.  The collapse of the auto industry during one of the more severe cyclical downturns prompted him to pursue federal employment in Maryland in the IT field.  Here in Maryland, he and Sarah became members of Hope Bible Church, a like-minded church, in 2010.  Larry and Sarah have a passion for special needs ministry.  Larry has also a passion for teaching the inspired word of God.
